Classroom Placement

This is the time of the year when the teachers and I work together to place students in classrooms for the coming year.  We consider many factors as we configure our classrooms to make the best educational decisions for each student.  Primary consideration is given to the academic, social, and programmatic needs of the student.  We also consider gender and ethnicity when setting up our classes.

Attention is given to changes in teaching staff and their grade level assignments.  Our teaching staff is excellent and all of our teachers meet Highly Qualified Standards mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.  Parents who have concerns about placements should be sure your child is registered online and complete a classroom request form and submit it to Ms. Korfhage by Friday, May 29.  Please state the specific educational reason for your placement request.  We will take your concerns into consideration as we plan our classes for next year.  Letters for students who are not registered and letters submitted after the May 29 deadline and will not be considered.
